A light to my path

This week, Walter & I were walking around our soon-to-be new hometown of Lucca, Tuscany. We were in the process of discussing progress on negotiations to rent an apartment. We were continuing to ask God to lead us, to open doors, to provide clear direction on whether this was where we should settle. For those that don’t know Lucca, it is an old city that still has its entire walls intact, surrounding the old part of the city. As we walked, we spotted a tunnel through the wall – leading to outside the old city. The tunnel was lit up. It reminded me of the lights on the floor of the aisle in an aeroplane, the lights that are intended to guide people to safety in the event of an emergency. We couldn’t see all the way through, but we could clearly make out the next part of the passage. And we knew that if we walked in, the next vestibule would come into view. As we took the next step, the path would be lit up. God is faithful. He used our surroundings to remind us that He lights up the way. That all we need to do is trust Him for the next steps and He will continue to reveal more to us.
