Tribute to the Red Chair
Everywhere in Canada we found these iconic red chairs. Called ‘Adirondack Chairs’, they were designed in 1903. Initially we did not take any photo’s, but then as we continued seeing them, we sought a few opportunities to take some pictures. Parks Canada in particular has a program to place them at many viewpoints throughout their parks.
They are such a lasting image of Canada that we bought ourselves one – a small one – to take home.
We first started taking some pictures in Jasper
Next we have Banff
Then we jump over to the Ottawa on the East Coast
This is from the Fundy National Park (New Brunswick)
Then we had some on our deck in Peggys Cove (still New Brunswick)
We found some more in nearby Halifax along the waterfront
Out cycling in PEI we found a few more
We also enjoyed sitting overlooking the St Lawrence River in Montreal
And finally we found a few along the water in Toronto
