Farewell Neil Edward Christie – stepdad & friend
We are grateful to have had the opportunity to know Neil. He had a great albeit naughty & sarcastic sense of humour. Glenda particularly enjoyed the easy-going, witty banter she could have with him. Walter enjoys gadgets so revelled in the conversations about the latest contraptions. Who can forget the outside room filled with so many “treasures”?
Neil always reminded us of Santa Claus, with his big grey bushy beard, and broad beaming smile. It was particularly noticeable how happy he made Mom. When she married Neil in 1990, just a year before we were married, she received a new lease on life. He very willingly went along supporting her with any of the causes she got involved in. We are very grateful for the positive impact he had on Mom’s life, providing her with laughter and security. No doubt there will be many good memories to sustain her into the future.
Mom, we send you an extra portion of our love at this time. We thank God for the people that He has placed into your life to support you. We pray that you will be able to hold on to the words of David in Psalm 18:2. “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my saviour; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.”
